International Education School

On December 28th, 2023, the International Cultural Festival of Kunming Medical University took place at the Chenggong Campus, jointly hosted by the International Education School and Clinical Oncology School of Kunming Medical University. Vice President Li Lihua, department heads, and faculty members from the associated schools participated in the event.

During the opening ceremony, Vice President Li Lihua, on behalf of the university, warmly conveyed New Year wishes to faculty and students from home and abroad. He commemorated the impressive history of the university’s International Cultural Festivals and expressed optimism about the future of cultural exchange on campus. Then he toured the various booths presented by students from different countries. Chinese and international students performed traditional songs and dances with enthusiasm and in their respective booths offered an array of unique traditional cuisines, handicrafts, and costumes that captivated the participation of the faculty and students. After a vote of over 2,400 individuals, the booths with titles of “Most Popular”, “Most Creative”, and “Best Interactive” were selected.

In the evening 2024 New Year Gala was held at the Students Auditorium, where the faculty and international students gathered together to enjoy the spectacular performances presented by students from different countries. In the end, teachers and students together put on a fashion show, displaying cheongsams, Hanfu, and traditional costumes from various countries, which brought the event to its climax. The event finally concluded in a joyous and harmonious atmosphere.

Honoring its commitment to “Harmony in Diversity, Beauty in Common”, Kunming Medical University has hosted this annual cultural festival since 2017. The festival has promoted cultural exchange between China and the world, enriched the campus life of Chinese and international students, effectively enhanced the international atmosphere of the campus, and provided students a spectacular platform to improve and display their unique talents.
